it could be that the admin wants to clean up the database for some reason.. 1) There are better ways to handle that 2) It is the same messages being worked on, so does it really matter if there are old WU's still floating about? 3) The admin never posted anything 4) You can do more damage by not sending WU's as crunchers can leave and never return Take a WU that doesn't get completed. It will be treated as a resend and be sent to someone else. If they don't complete it, it will be resent again. Most projects allow a WU to be resent up to 10 times (_0 up to _9) before it is viewed as a problem WU and taken out of being sent. Resends usually have shorter deadlines. So cleaning anything up would be done in less than a month. Sure by starving clients it would speed that process up to circumvent long cache settings on the clients, but as soon as you were done "cleaning" and put it back to normal, the same thing would occur. |

Were they resends though? If it resends a WU and then the previous WU gets returned, the server will then inform your client to cancel those WU's. No need to crunch WU's that have already been crunched and validated. |
