There seems to be a problem creating new workunits. Server status page shows 0 results ready to send. Also 'Results sent last hour' is less than 1000 while 'Workunits validated last hour' is over 4000. Despite lots of attempts I hardly received any work over the last 12 hours. Tom |

Ditto. My 12-core workstation at work is going to run dry soon, and the hardware here is all out of work units. |

same here. look at thge server page and you will see that there are no workunits. im over at the (backup project) world community grid for today. for the people who dont want this in the future: in the settings you can specify the amount of work the client will download. set this to 2-5 days and you have enough buffer to survive a error like this |

I will admit, it was nice to come in to work this morning and my Precision's fans weren't whirring at 75% speed since it has no work... |

I got a few at 18:00, but zero since. I bet they were resends as that is all the seems to be coming out...at least for me that is. |

got one 7 minutes ago. This box usually pull in a RAC of 14,000+ a day. Did the WU you receive have an _1 or higher at the end? If so, that would be a resend. The previous issue of the WU was not returned within the deadline so it was sent back out to be worked on. If you look at the server status it shows that there are no new WU's being sent out and you can see that the number of results in progress continues to go down since no new work is being sent out. Resends do not count since they were already in progress. |

Most of the time, indeed, it is work in progress, probably resent to another computer (because of error, or because of deadline). But if you look carefully at the numbers, you can see that the increasing of "done" figures are not totally explained by decreasing of "work in progress" figures. "remaining" is also, from times to times decreasing. Eg, in the last 20 minutes, for m4_vroln72_1 done went from 28346583 to 28346922 (+ 339) inprogress from 27279 to 27037 (- 242) remaining from 62730138 to 62730041 (- 97) It seems that 242 of the 339 WU done in these 20 minutes are old WU (finaly done by a slow computer, or resent and done by a faster computer), whereas the 97 others WU are new work. Am I wrong ? |
