Hello, I have a few threads that were "lost" when I put the optimized app on my computer. How do I change the status from "In-Progress" so I can re-download them before they become due? I know once they're overdue they will re-cycle into my work queue, but I don't want to wait until 9/5/08 and 9/8/08 if it can be helped. Thanks in advance. Mike Doerner |

The server should resend lost results, if it doesn't then there is an error somewhere in my config.xml, I'll check that on next weekend. M4 Project homepage M4 Project wiki |

Hello, This happened to me too, but when BOINC contacted Enigma to get another WU to crunch (because my machine was out of work), Enigma re-sent me the "lost" WU. TJM's post leads me to believe that this is the expected behaviour - if your host contacts Enigma again before the WU deadline, Enigma will *re-send* you the lost WU back again; otherwise, when the deadline expires, Enigma willl *re-issue* the lost WU to another host. |

Hello, OK, so I'm being Re-Issued work, but not Re-sent work. That explains it. As my 2nd machine (Intel) may not be around much longer, my primary machine (AMD) should be re-issued the work units. Mike Doerner |

I should have been more specific. Computer ID 6771 is not being re-sent units (although it is currently offline, it will be up again on Wednesday). But when it was online, the previously issued work was not re-sent when I upgraded apps to the optimized version. It runs Win XP. I'm sure the work units will be re-issued after they are overdue on Friday, but it looks like they will be re-issued before they are re-sent at this point...... Computer 6757 will hopefully be upgraded sometime next month to a Quad core AMD or if I find a bargin bin Intel Q6600 somewhere. ;-) I also "lost" work units on this computer as well when I upgraded apps on my Linux box but when the units were overdue they were then re-issued. Re-send now seems to be working. I don't know if you fixed it or having my computer off for a few days did the trick. Mike Doerner |

Re-send now seems to be working. I don't know if you fixed it or having my computer off for a few days did the trick. Usually lost workunits are resent after first scheduler request, but sometimes the host has to contact server few times to get lost tasks back, I'm not sure why. Looks like a minor glitch in the server software. M4 Project homepage M4 Project wiki |

I had 2 work units that got out of sync for some reason (the other 3 seem to have been re-issued), but when they expired, the server assigned them to users other than myself! (Grrrr! ;-) ) The work units aren't being lost typically. However, if I bugger up my hard drive and start over (which is what happened this time), it seems to forget to check on the work units my computers should be working on before it assigns new work units. Minor annoyance, really, but I'd like to have some way of declaring a work unit "lost" before it expires so it can be re-issued to me properly. Mike Doerner |
