So I was wondering if we all need to do to crack this message is to get trought the m4_vroln72_1, m4_vroln72_2, m4_vroln72_4 and only these (about 227 760 000 workunits summed up)? Yeah, I know that the original message is somewhere in that quantinity, but is it in these 227 760 000 workunits or it'll be added more in the future? |

The original message isn't guaranteed to be found at all. There could have been a transcription error, in which case there is a chance we might not find the message. It's taking a little longer than previous messages though. I'm hanging on, because I think we are going to find it sooner or later. |

I'm hanging on too, because even though we may never find the message, it is cool to think that we might! :D (I take it that the project and all of the people who run it would get credited if we find the message?) |

I have some questions, maybe one of you can help me. On the M4 website (http://www.bytereef.org/m4_project.html) is states all three messages have been cracked. So what are we trying to crack? Given the total processing power currently allocated to this project, when will we have finished processing half of the solution space? Again assuming the current amount of processing power, when will we have checked all possible solutions? What is the trend in processing power of enigma@home? Thanks in advance for your reply. |

@Sweder 1. We cracked them, yes, but for now we're working on this one: http://enigma.hoerenberg.com/index.php?cat=Unbroken&page=P1030680 For now this is the last message to crack. 2,3. As for my calculations, we should hit 50% in the end of 2015, and 100% on January 2018 (this can even change, because some users can leave/join project, so it's not precious enough). 4. I've been there for bunch of time. 2 years ago it was staying at the level of 20k CPU hours/hour, last few months it was staying at the 40k. For the last time, it oscillates between 30-40k. |

About the estimated time... Results returned in the last 24h: 201,376 est. Time: 742 Days in progress: 410k in progress (% from remaining units): 0,29 |

Were some of the solutions based upon data received from the German archive? I am sure that the old cyphers and messages are available there. Germans were meticulous record keepers. |
