I ran the original M4 project for some time, I then tried this project, how are both connected?

The original website has a nice progress table on top of the page, are the WUs crunched here part of it and reflected in those stats?

Or does this project focus on another part of the unbroken message than the old client?
Will the boinc WU result database get merged with the original database or does it work separately?
