Is it possible to provide both a 32 and 64 bit version of the Enigma application, similar to Primegrid and Rosetta@home? This would provide some speed-up across all 64-bit hosts on this project, not only the ones with the optimized app installed. It seems that this would be an easier solution than creating a GPU application, as some others have suggested. |

Sure, I can add 64 bit apps, but I doubt there will be any performance gain. M4 Project homepage M4 Project wiki |

Phoronix have tests somewhere that claim 64-bit apps run better on 64-bit machines than 32-bit apps. I'm sure Google will enlighten anyone who's interested. Of course, it depends on the app. |
