Because the forums have a Latest News page and decoding the last message is Latest News to be put in the proper location.
It's a waste of all user's time to have us digging through the forums for something that is high priority news about the project.

Completing a major project goal of actually decoding a message is so critically important that it should be pushed to every BOINC client, running Enigma project, on the Notices tab.

SETI, Einstein, CERN and other projects all are very proud of their accomplishments and let us know when they have success!

So, did we learn anything new from decrypting those messages? I mean anything that was not already known from the historical records.

Nevertheless, the computational know-how to decrypt the messages, it by itself an accomplishment!
