The IP address is going to be changed so I think the server will be unavailable for at least couple of hours, maybe up to a day. Older BOINC clients may require a restart and/or DNS cache flushing. 2-3 days before the move I'll change the DNS TTL to a low value for even smother update. I think the move got delayed for a reason unknown to me and eventually the old server went down today at around 10am my time. I've just finished configuration changes and so far it looks like everything is running fine, already from the new location. There was also another problem, I made a mistake when adding records to the DNS and it caused the website to be unavailable for some of the participants. I didn't notice it for at least 10-12 hours - also because of caching. I'll be testing compressed VPN between servers during next few days, there's possibility to save lots of bandwidth which would be nice, at this moment I'm very close to my limit.
