The reason for this is hardware replacement, the old server barely keeps up running under load and has serious performance issues. The swap is going to take a while because I need to copy data from both old drives, I hope that 'dd' image will do the trick. I used dd and somewhere in the middle it stopped with error, then I googled a bit and found ddrescue, which was already available on the sysrescd I used. Ddrescue offers also a progress info, which is a very nice thing to have - dd just runs silently and the user has to guess how long will it take.
