Not sure if I'm the only one here. I tried searching the forums but got no results... I have a notice in BOINC that Enigma@home 0.76b needs 8MB more disk space, currently 0.0 is available. I've checked all of my settings and as far as I can tell Enigma has 10 GB available space that it isn't using. The app runs fine, as do the other BOINC projects, but this is the only disk space notice I am getting. I have been ignoring it, but I don't understand why I'm getting it. Any ideas? Thanks Richard |

I think that when the BOINC starts, it writes amount of space available somewhere in the logs. You could check that, perhaps the Data folder is not in the location you expected it to be. Enigma requires only 8MB of disk space (which is set with a huge reserve anyway). M4 Project homepage M4 Project wiki |

You say you checked 'all your settings', but where? Did you check them in the project computing preferences, section "Disk and memory usage" and then check all three settings for Disk? Or did you check them in your local advanced preferences? I suspect you are running the local preferences, but checked the web preferences. The local preferences override the web preferences. You can see if you're using local preferences, when you start BOINC and see in the messages the following lines, e.g.: 25/10/2011 19:00:04 | | Reading preferences override file 25/10/2011 19:00:04 | | Preferences: 25/10/2011 19:00:04 | | max memory usage when active: 2452.23MB 25/10/2011 19:00:04 | | max memory usage when idle: 2452.23MB 25/10/2011 19:00:04 | | max disk usage: 15.00GB Jord. Thanks This response put me on the correct course. I checked the event log (Sorry, I know.) and noticed I had a setting to have it use at least 100 Gb of disk space. A recent mass file move leave me with well under that. I reset the local settings as well as those I have on BAM! and that cleared the messge. All set for more work. Thanks Richard |
