Old project url - enigma.no-ip.net:443/enigma/ doesn't work anymore.

I had to create a http redirect from enigma.no-ip.net to enigmaathome.net because some of the stats sites are still using old url.


Today I decided to upgrade server software again, Enigma@Home now runs latest revision 15685 because 15600 website/forum code had too many bugs (very frequent database/email errors, some links not working, problems with profiles, lots of weird headers errors).

Yesterday I set up second wrapper, which wraps work from M4 project's 'New' server. These workunits, called 'awgly100' (awgly - first 5 letters of ciphertext, 100 - ciphertext lenght) are longer than hceyz72 and you'll see very limited number of them until I'll fine-tune the second wrapper.

Lots of minor tweaks on the server side, server_status now loads much faster and all informations shown there are more accurate.

Client side: I'm doing final alpha-tests of upgraded wrapper code, new version has two major improvements:
-cpu time is saved on exit and checkpointed;
-very accurate (linear) progress info:

Early next month I'll change hceyz72 workunits template to new version used by apps 5.18 and up (it uses less bandwidth and is easier to upgrade in future, because the app itself doesn't have any data files built-in), after the update old optimized app won't be able to handle any workunits.

Home page shows top scores for both ciphertexts, autoupdated in realtime.

Cache lifetime of all pages lowered to 10 secs (I'm not sure why it was set to 3 hours), I think that the server hardware is fast enough to generate all pages in realtime.

Assimilator/Validator updated, old version had a bug which caused workunits with download errors to be reinserted into the feeder queue; it was the reason of increasing number of download errors. During update process buggy code set status of all completed tasks to client_state = Success / validate_state = Invalid - this is display bug only, doesn't affect credits and valid results.

I had to reduce db_purge min_age_days, because the server slows down significantly with hundreds of thousands results in the database. Your completed tasks older than 6 days will dissapear from results/workunits pages. I'll change this back to 14 days after the planned hardware upgrade (at the beginning of Oct).

Linux app (current version: 5.22): fixed a bug which caused progess meter to ocassionaly jump to 100% at random points.

The server does that automatically, take a look at the main page. New top results are posted there just after successful validation.
If anyone want's to view the full list of results, I can upload it somewhere, it's quite large (last time I've checked it was ~20MBytes txt file).

Is there an English translation of any snippet from one of the messages?

Did the intended recipients include submarines?

I'm aware of this bug, but so far I couldn't find the reason of this problem. The server software will be upgraded soon to the latest SVN revision, maybe that will help.

Fixed pm.php - 'Delete selected messages' was bugged. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/ticket/760

Fixed SMTP configuration - no more errors when sending private messages.

Fixed forum settings update bug - autoupdate script didn't update one of the db tables.

/download folder doesn't exist anymore, it has been replaced with a single script that generates requested files on-the-fly. This should reduce number of download errors to minimum and improve the server performance, because apache doesn't have to scan through folders with thousands of files anymore.

Hceyz workunits are temporarily disabled, because I'm rewriting templates and switching them to the second app which was designed to run run both WU types. Theoretically it will be finished tomorrow, but due to the queue length (and the fact that it's FIFO queue) there won't be any hceyz72 tasks available for next few days.

The server is back up after critical network failure, it's possible that there are some minor glitches on the webpages because during the downtime I decided to change the configuration a bit to improve performance.
