There will be second app released as soon as I'll get it's back-end fully working. It is much more complicated than I initially thought (auto-generating WUs is already tough task, while some sort of result filtering is even tougher). The app will be first released as CPU only, due to problems we found running the GPU version. M4 Project homepage M4 Project wiki |

AHA here is some of the GPU discusion, could only find it with google search. What is the state of a GPU application these days. Opencl has developed allot these last 2 years on Intel/AMD/Nvidia system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCL |

Hi, some news on the GPU-App? GPU-Computing is much faster than CPU-Computing, the factor is 3-4,5 times faster! I´m in contact with GPU-Computing experts from Praha for writing an GPU-App for an other Project, if you need help. ;) |

It's the optimisation that's the problem. This has been hashed out on lots of project discussions. There are CUDA enigma crackers, but from what I'm aware they aren't set up for using the Enigma@home automation system. The whole thing would need to be re-written to make use of the existing enigma@home generation/comparison backend. Don't quote me though, TJM is the one who knows what the current status is. I am eager to find out too. |
