Since the M4 server is still offline/out of work, should I add one (or more) of the unbroken 1941/M3 messages (available at cryptocellar.org) to the server queue ? Stefan Krah's enigma suite is compatible also with M3 model, the server workunit/result templates and all currently available application versions should also be compatible. I'm adding nr. 87 (KLJBO) from http://cryptocellar.web.cern.ch/cryptocellar/bgac/GArmy_July1941.html http://cryptocellar.web.cern.ch/cryptocellar/bgac/Ekeys_July1941.html <- it's key is not listed here, so the plaintext is not known. The message is short and missing some letters at the end, so probably the difficulty is very high. The keyspace is very short compared to enigma M4, a single high-end PC could easily go through all the settings in 24 hours. There will be only one workunit type (enigma M3 has no dual-notched rotors), estimated runtime is at around 50 minutes on a 2.4GHz Q6600. The server will be setup to run 50 walks through keyspace I'll use 1941 dictionaries taken from the cryptocellar.org and converted to the format required by Stefan Krah's enigma suite. Everything is prepared, I'm running three benchmarks atm to set up values in workunit templates correctly; these workunits should be available 1-2 hours from now. The first batch was broken (a typo in the input file), it's already fixed and workunits are available. M4 Project homepage M4 Project wiki |

Hmm I'm getting some errors too. I hope they were from the broken batch as I haven't changed anything! <core_client_version>6.10.17</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> process exited with code 195 (0xc3, -61) </message> <stderr_txt> wrapper: starting wrapper: running ../../projects/www.enigmaathome.net/enigma_0.76_i686-pc-linux-gnu (-R -o results.txt 00trigr.cur 00bigr.cur 00ciphertext) ../../projects/www.enigmaathome.net/enigma_0.76_i686-pc-linux-gnu: error while loading shared libraries: libmv.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory app exit status: 0x7f00 called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> |

Hmm I'm getting some errors too. I hope they were from the broken batch as I haven't changed anything! It looks like the executable you are using is incompatible with your system. I'd suggest you to build your own executable (easy: download the source from bytereef.org, unpack and run 'compile') or you can try one of the optimized executables, for example one from the mdoerner's pack . Just to tell you that the new yngzo50 WUs have very strange progress percentage and remaining time. Up and down like yoyos. |

Yep I've noticed, it's a wrapper issue - it can't read the checkpoint file properly. It doesn't affect anything important though, just the displayed time to completion and progress - it goes from 0 to 100%, back to 0 and then again to 100%. There's also a bug in the validator, it marks some of the workunits as invalid. I've disabled it until I can find what's wrong, hopefully it's just a minor glitch. EDIT: it's fixed. Among others I got this finished one : http://www.enigmaathome.net/result.php?resultid=10852867 Unlike the rest with almost exactly the same score and a referring text I read this : " Validator info: Valid result. Score: 15479, unique result Text: " Why so special with that low score ? |
