Hi. My computer has a GPU Asus Geforce 9600 GT (Nvidia) with CUDA and OpenCL 1.0 support. I've never been able to download any Enigma@home GPU task. Are there any reason for that problem? Thanks |

Any explanation for my question? Are there any minimum requeriements for Nvidia GPU task? Where can I find them? |

Well I read at another thread at this forum that it's necessary for Enigma@home BOINC GPU crunching, to install the apropiated app and app_info.xml file. Can somobody where can I found detailed explanations about the procedure to follow? I want to test with my old Nvidia and ATI GPUs. I think this is the repository: https://github.com/VE3NEA/enigma-cuda Which files and where must I copy them to my local computer? I found app_info.xml file with this info: <?xml version="1.0"?> -<app_info> -<app> <name>enigma_m4_2</name> <user_friendly_name>Enigma 0.76b-Opt</user_friendly_name> </app> -<app> <name>enigma_m4_3</name> <user_friendly_name>Enigma AV 64bit</user_friendly_name> </app> -<app> <name>enigma_cuda</name> <user_friendly_name>Enigma Cuda</user_friendly_name> </app> -<file_info> <name>wrapper_5.22_windows_intelx86.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> -<file_info> <name>enigma_0.76_windows_intelx86.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> -<file_info> <name>job_1.22.xml</name> </file_info> -<file_info> <name>wrapper_1.04_windows_intelx86.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> -<file_info> <name>enigma3_1.04_windows_amd64.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> -<file_info> <name>job_1.49.xml</name> </file_info> -<file_info> <name>wrappergpu_1.04_windows_intelx86__cuda.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> -<file_info> <name>enigmacuda_1.04_windows_intelx86__cuda.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> -<file_info> <name>job_1.54.xml</name> </file_info> -<app_version> <app_name>enigma_m4_2</app_name> <version_num>522</version_num> -<file_ref> <file_name>wrapper_5.22_windows_intelx86.exe</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> -<file_ref> <file_name>enigma_0.76_windows_intelx86.exe</file_name> <open_name>enigma2_0.76_windows_intelx86.exe</open_name> </file_ref> -<file_ref> <file_name>job_1.22.xml</file_name> <open_name>job.xml</open_name> </file_ref> </app_version> -<app_version> <app_name>enigma_m4_3</app_name> <version_num>104</version_num> -<file_ref> <file_name>wrapper_1.04_windows_intelx86.exe</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> -<file_ref> <file_name>enigma3_1.04_windows_amd64.exe</file_name> <open_name>enigma_av.exe</open_name> </file_ref> -<file_ref> <file_name>job_1.49.xml</file_name> <open_name>job.xml</open_name> </file_ref> </app_version> -<app_version> <app_name>enigma_cuda</app_name> <version_num>104</version_num> -<file_ref> <file_name>wrappergpu_1.04_windows_intelx86__cuda.exe</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> -<file_ref> <file_name>enigmacuda_1.04_windows_intelx86__cuda.exe</file_name> <open_name>enigma_cuda.exe</open_name> </file_ref> -<file_ref> <file_name>job_1.54.xml</file_name> <open_name>job.xml</open_name> </file_ref> -<coproc> <type>CUDA</type> <count>1</count> </coproc> <plan_class>cuda</plan_class> </app_version> </app_info> I that the correct file? 1, BOINC installed as a service? 2, Is the GPU an option in the ACTIVITY tab? 3, Did you install drivers from Nvidia, or did Windows install them? |

you dont need an app config file anymore. Ok, but why are not downloading Enigma@home GPU tasks at any of my GPU (I have old ATI and old Nvidia GPU's)? Are there any web where I can see the minimun requeriments for crunching Enigma@home GPU tasks ? Thanks |

looking at the GPU results returned I can't see your card, and looking at the card spec, it may be below requirements. |

The BETA CUDA app's name says FERMI indicating that it needed to be a FERMI based (NVidia) card or newer. However, the production application is using OpenCL. It is possible that the requirements are still the same as far as FERMI goes. The 9600 GT was long before the FERMI cards were released. I do not know of an official requirements list though. I recommend trying it on another project that still supports the older cards just to verify that BOINC is indeed working right with them. I would suggest Moo! as it still supports CAL and therefore much older ATI (AMD) cards as well. |
