No. It doesn't seem that there's any benefit to running BOINC projects on an FX Bulldozer as opposed to say a 2600k or similar.

You can do it and you're perfectly free to do so but fact of the matter is that it's not significantly better than it's competitors and may in fact generate less PPD/computational power.

Personally I have an AMD PII X4 and Nehalem system running BOINC and am not really looking to add a BD (or SB) to my computational power any time soon and may even pass them up in favour of Ivy or Piledriver.

Got some bad news, guys....my ISP yanked our web-spaces without warning. The links in this thread are now dead. If you need the Linux apps from now on, you'll have to compile them yourselves using the instructions listed above.

I use 64-bit Slackware on one of my computers, which "out of the box" isn't backwards compatible with 32-bit binaries (or binaries supporting both). I have no interest in making it compatible, but would love to get Enigma@home on it.

Does anyone know where I can get the source code to compile this 64-bit version (the binary must not link to any 32-bit library)? Also, to install it, is it just a matter of ignoring BOINC's "not for your system" error, quit, and just drop the binary in the Projects subdirectory?

Should probably mention that I finally got tired with Slackware's two years of teasing and installed LinuxMint 17.3 XFCE. When using third-party repositories that are more up-to-date, I've found it to have the benefits I enjoy with Slackware without the inconveniences that Slackware has. A repository of up-to-date NVIDIA proprietary drivers allows me to use GPU-based SETI@Home, and being multilib compatible Enigma@Home works too.

So now I have a Windows and a Linux computer, both having the same i7-4790k CPU, GTX 960 GPU, and 32 GB RAM, and both working on the same projects, which doubles my contribution to BOINC including Enigma@Home.

would be nice if finally some 64 bit applications were availible and on application page and downloaded to boinc automatically. seems like a wasted amount of performance that could be used to help this project.
